A dog’s sense of smell is truly extraordinary.
While we see the world with our eyes, dogs experience it through their noses.
Humans have about 6 million scent receptors — impressive, until you compare that to the 150–300 million a dog has!
When we walk into a bakery and smell “bread,” a dog can detect each ingredient individually — the flour, the eggs, the yeast, and everything else that went into making it.
Scentwork is a fantastic activity for dogs of all ages and breeds. It’s especially beneficial for anxious or reactive dogs, helping them build confidence and focus. Teach your dog to search, find, and indicate — all while having fun together!
Looking for something awesome to do with your dog? Want to focus their mind or take on a new challenge? See if you and your dog can rise through the scentwork ranks, learning real scent detection skills through exciting, themed scenarios that add a new dimension to your training.
